About the Sunday Sessions

Sunday sessions at BOHO Camden are live music monthly showcase events, open to all, featuring talented students and graduates from ICMP’s Songwriting Degree and other music degree courses. They feature artists performing stripped-back acoustic sets in a fantastic, laid-back venue in the heart of trendy Camden, London.

Who was performing?

At this event, we enjoyed music and performance from several talented ICMP students currently studying on our Songwriting degree and Creative Musicianship degree programmes:

  • Joel Mayes and Violaine Vandenbroucke played a fantastic set as duo Pretty Peoples and the night was opened by Leah Bryant, who performed at ICMP’s Live and Loud and was recently announced as a winner of the prestigious ICMP/ATLA International Songwriting contest
  • Cristina Llull, who has previously played across venues in London, including a recent feature slot for Hot Vox at Nido Collection and a slot at ICMP’s Live & Loud Festival at Proud Camden. She recently featured on Hilow’s track ‘Fell In Love With You’, which has over 700 thousand streams on Spotify. Cristina was joined by BA Songwriting student Louis Takoree whose credits include playing live for BBC Radio Essex with signed artist James Burrage and regular gigs at venues across London.
  • Katie Wilkinson, who has also recently played on the acoustic stage of this year’s Live & Loud Festival, as has Richard Fairlie, whose appearance before her at the Sunday Sessions came alongside a number of gigs across London and beyond this month including slots at Soul Store West and the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.
  • Closing act Thomas Ashby ,who has recently played gigs across London and the UK including supporting Sam Brookes at Ramsgate Music Hall in Kent, City Sound Project and Wise Words Festival, Foodies Festival in Bristol and The Finsbury in London. He released his debut album ‘Cache’ in 2016 and this was his second time playing for Sunday Sessions at Boho Camden.

ICMP’s Careers and Employability Manager Oliver Tatler said:

“We were delighted to see so many of our performers from our recent Live & Loud Festival take the opportunity to share their music again at Boho Camden this week.  Events like this are a great way to develop confidence and performance skills in a friendly and relaxed professional environment”

Nice intimate venue with great vibes – I really enjoyed playing here.  I'm very grateful to ICMP for putting on nights like this - it really helps in building stage confidence and introduces students onto the London gigging circuit in a really supportive environment. Thank you ICMP!
