ICMP Tutor Tereza Catarov

Tereza Catarov is a professional singer and working as a tutor teaching vocal courses at ICMP with a passion for the art of singing and composition.

She is young, open-minded and creative and at the same time professional and dedicated to teaching music. She knows how to bring up the best in her student's voice, because she listens with patience and sympathy and always finds the best approach to fix technical singing problem.

She has an amazing and original voice, fresh ideas on compositions and, in her classes, she uses all her talent to make her students feel inspired and free to express themselves. 

Her approach is student-centred, making the student's needs and their learning process - her very first priority. Helping a student finding their own musical voice in the most healthy way and providing them with the tools to gain confidence and to improve their technique - is Tereza's aim.

She grew up in a multicultural environment, therefore she was exposed to different music genres from a very early age. She nurtured her imagination with Romanian and Bulgarian old songs and accomplished her techniques studying classical music and jazz.

She has a passion for vocal groups and vocal harmonies and she was part of different groups such as Jazzappella and VJE Guildhall lead by Clare Wheeler (The Swingles).

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

Tereza Catarov has studied and worked with well-known musicians like: Clare Wheeler, David Binney, Jacob Collier and Kaya Thomas Dyke.

She has performed on famous stages across the UK and Europe such as: EFG London Jazz Festival, Swinging Groningen, JazzX, Jazz in the Park, Barbican, South Bank Centre, Vortex Jazz Club, Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho (London).

Her music has received good reviews such as the one in the renowned website London Jazz News, and her composition Infinity has been broadcasted on Jay Phelps ' show Somethin ’else, from the London radio JazzFM.
