We’re delighted to announce Shyann Headley is the winner of the first ICMP/AIM Music Business and Entrepreneurship scholarship.
Shyann was judged a worthy recipient after a call for submissions for the initiative was launched over the summer.
The scholarship aims to support the next generation of music industry talent and will see Shyann join our one-year Cert HE Music Business and Entrepreneurship course.
She will study the history and workings of modern music in the context of the recorded music, live music and music publishing industries alongside developing a solid understanding of core music business areas such as marketing and PR, tour and artist management, A&R, music copyright, sales and distribution, revenue streams, music rights and royalties, and more.
Shyann said:
I am thrilled to be chosen as the winner. I was excited to apply as I realised studying at ICMP would see me completely immersed in music, learning not only about the business side of the industry but also about music making too. I’m delighted to have been picked from all the entries and can’t wait to get started.”
James Brister, ICMP Music Industry Liaison executive said: “Shyann is a worthy recipient of this award. We were hugely impressed with her enthusiasm and drive to succeed in the music industry and are excited to offer her this unparalleled opportunity to launch her career with us.”
Paul Pacifico, AIM’s CEO, said: “We were delighted to partner with ICMP on this exciting initiative to help give a platform for new music industry talent and Shyann is a fantastic winner. We’re excited to follow her progress and hope studying at ICMP will be the start of a long and successful career in the business for her.”
Studying the course also enables progression to the highly practical BA (Hons) Music Business and Entrepreneurship course – the first music business degree in the UK to give weighting to the concepts of ‘entrepreneurship’, ‘enterprise’ and ‘innovation’ as well as music business management.
Congratulations to Shyann!
