Graduating from ICMP in 2020, Basma is now based in Stockholm and works as an engineer and producer for the city's IMRSV alongside helping run the label operation.

Her role requires multiple skills with Basma taking on sound design, supporting the recording of live strings and working in Dolby Atmos via her Master's thesis which she put together while in Sweden.

This research delves into producing, recording and mixing for Dolby Atmos alongside immersive audio as a creative medium.

Commenting on her time studying at ICMP, Basma said: "Beyond learning about songwriting and performance, the course instilled a deeper understanding of what's possible when you're truly determined."

I gained valuable knowledge about composing, music production, collaborating with other musicians, understanding the music industry, and the artistic process of writing music - fundamental skills essential for success in the industry."

"The environment at ICMP was both motivating and transformative."

Recent projects included recording strings at IMRSV for the soundtrack of the new feel-good movie 'The Last Journey' (Den Sista Resan), created by Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson.

She is also working on an upcoming EP of original music inspired by a letter and poem her father wrote to her mother in 1992.
