David Combes is a highly regarded session singer, talent agent, and vocal coach with credits ranging from prime time television to musical theatre.
Over his diverse career David has built a strong reputation on the London session singing circuit singing with, amongst others, Beyoncé Knowles, Westlife, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Kylie and Bring Me The Horizon. He can be also be heard on numerous prime time TV shows including several series of ‘The X Factor’, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and the ITV series ‘Superstar’. He has been part of the audition tour for both the BBC and ITV’s productions of ‘The Voice’ and coached a number of groups for Sky TV’s ‘Sing:Ultimate A Cappella’. He was part of the backing vocal team for Robbie Williams’ No.1 album ‘Swings Both Ways’ as well as singing backing vocals for Gary Barlow at The Hackney Empire.
David sang at the The Prince’s Trust 30th Anniversary Concert at the Tower of London. He also sang with Lionel Richie for the 2008 BBC Prom in the Park, and, in 2009, at Hyde Park for Thank You for the Music, a celebration of the music of Abba, alongside Chaka Khan, The Feeling, and Lulu.
David has toured the UK with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, providing backing vocals for their celebration of the music of Elvis. He's also sang at a concert in Hyde Park with Capital Voices as part of the Proms in the Park series with the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Over the past four years, David has been working as a vocal coach on the box-office smash rock-biopic 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. Working extensively with Hollywood star Rami Malek in the lead role, David played a pivotal role in Rami's transformation into Freddie Mercury. The film has proved to be a massive success, picking-up an incredible four Oscars including Rami taking home Best Actor for his role as Freddie Mercury. The Oscar followed his BAFTA success, where he secured Best Leading Actor.
