Polly is an artist and producer, performing as Art School Girlfriend. Signed to Paul Epworth's label Wolf Tone, she is a regular at Epworth's renowned Church Studios - when not writing and producing in her home studio setup.
She has toured around the UK, USA and Europe as part of various projects since the age of 17 and after a steady stream of EPs under the Art School Girlfriend moniker, she is soon to release her debut record. As well as her solo output, Polly also scores, remixes and DJs.
She's currently teaching on our BA Creative Music Production programme and continues to release music as Art School Girlfriend, including her 2023 release 'A Place to Lie'.
Co-produced, written and recorded by Mackey, “A Place To Lie” is a display of an artist truly finding their feet whilst pushing the boundaries of what they have done before. Inspired by Mackey’s DJ sets and her radio show on female-led Foundation FM, one that showcased lo-fi electronic and ambient music from female producers, it finds the balance between liminal melodies and cathartic payoff.
