"Hello, my name is Christina Hart, and I'm a singer-songwriter currently at the O2 Academy Islington for the ICMP Fresher Showcase. This moment is a significant milestone for me as I'm in the exciting process of recording my second EP. The journey of creating this EP has been exhilarating, filled with creative discoveries and artistic growth.

My musical path began at ICMP, where I studied songwriting for three years, graduating four years ago. My decision to move to the UK and immerse myself in its vibrant music scene was driven by a desire to deeply understand the intricacies of the music industry and hone my songwriting skills. The experience was amazing, especially as I was initially not very familiar with the professional aspects of music and songwriting. At ICMP, the approach to teaching was hands-on and rigorous. We were tasked with writing a song every week, a challenge that initially seemed daunting but eventually became second nature. This rigorous training was instrumental in preparing me for the fast-paced, creative demands of the music industry. Today, writing three to four songs a week feels natural, and it's a testament to how much I've grown as a songwriter.

My music can be described as pop rock, but it's more than just a genre label. It's a reflection of my inner world, often resembling entries from a journal. While love is a common theme in music, I strive to explore a broader spectrum of human emotions. My songs delve into themes of grief, joy, and the myriad of strong feelings that we all experience but are often left unexpressed in mainstream music. This approach to songwriting has allowed me to connect with my audience on a deeper level, as I articulate feelings that many can relate to but few discuss.

Reflecting on my career, I realise how far I've come from my early days. Achieving goals that seemed distant four years ago is incredibly fulfilling. It's not just about the music; it's about the journey of growth, learning, and self-discovery. The recognition I've received in the industry is not just a testament to my hard work but also a reminder of the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

Networking and collaboration are cornerstones of success in the music industry. My time at ICMP underscored the importance of building relationships and working with others. Initially, co-writing was a new and somewhat intimidating experience for me. However, it soon became evident how valuable these collaborations are. They're not just about combining musical talents; they're about learning from each other, pushing creative boundaries, and collectively exploring new musical landscapes. The collaborative experiences at ICMP were not only about producing music but also about personal and professional growth.

An important lesson I've learned is the significance of timing in releasing music. In my early days, I felt the pressure to constantly release new tracks. However, I've since learned that it's more important to release music that is fully realised and is reflective of my artistic vision. Rushing releases can compromise the quality and authenticity of the music. Balancing perfectionism with practicality is key."
