"Hello, my name is Romi. I pursued my passion for music by studying Music Business and Entrepreneurship at ICMP. My decision to enroll in this course stemmed from my keen interest in the music industry, coupled with my lack of proficiency in playing instruments. This made the business side of music a natural choice for me. Furthermore, I've always harbored the ambition to launch my own company, and the entrepreneurial aspects of the course were highly attractive to me.

The curriculum at ICMP was impressively comprehensive, blending specific insights about the music industry with broader subjects such as management and digital marketing. A highlight of the course was the practical experience it offered, particularly in the third year, where students are encouraged to conceptualise and develop their own business ideas.

The tutors at ICMP are not only academically knowledgeable but also deeply connected to the music industry. Their guidance is rooted in current industry practices, making the learning experience highly relevant and practical. One of my tutors, who actively works in the industry, played a crucial role in my career development. His industry connections led to my current position as a Finance and Admin Assistant at Festival Republic, a role I secured through his referral and subsequent successful interviews.

One of the unique advantages of studying music business in London is the city’s vibrant musical culture. The abundance of artists, music businesses, and a general atmosphere steeped in music enrich the learning experience. This environment proved beneficial, especially when we were tasked with organising events for the course. Finding venues was relatively straightforward, as many pubs and cultural spaces in London are open to hosting music events.

The diversity of the student body at ICMP added another layer to the learning experience. My peers ranged from recent high school graduates to individuals in their 60s, some of whom were balancing studies with parenting responsibilities. This diversity fostered a rich learning environment, full of varied perspectives and life experiences.

Reflecting on my three years at ICMP, the time seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. During the last week, my classmates and I marveled at how quickly the course had gone by. It was a period of intense learning, networking, and personal growth. I not only acquired valuable skills and knowledge but also formed lasting friendships, connected with amazing individuals, and ultimately secured a position at a company I respect and admire.

In conclusion, my journey at ICMP was a transformative experience that went beyond academics, shaping my career path and leaving me with lifelong connections in the music industry."
