Frequently Asked Questions

What is Freshers' Week?

Featuring our events programme packed full of exciting and engaging experiences to get you ready for the new academic year, Freshers' Week is your introduction to the ICMP and everything we have to offer.

Think of it as our welcome to you, to help kickstart your university experience, meet new people, and most importantly to have fun!

What's the difference between Freshers' Week, and Welcome Week?

Freshers' Week is your introduction to ICMP through social events, aimed at fostering a fun networking environment for all students.

Welcome Week is the formal induction to the start of your course. You'll see the range of induction events in your timetable when it's published from mid-August. It is essential that you attend all of these events.

An event I wanted to go to has sold out, will there be any more tickets released?

We strongly encourage you to bookmark this page and visit regularly if an event is fully booked. You can also get in touch with our Events Team to check if there is additional availability due to cancellations.

Can guests attend Freshers' Week events?

Our events are exclusively for ICMP students - they are an important part of the student experience.

What forms of ID will I require?

It's a requirement to have your ICMP Student ID with you at all events and campuses, once you have been issued with one. However, during the first two weeks of term, we know that the process and production of ICMP Student ID Cards can take time which may mean you don't have yours for the start of Freshers' Week.

Alongside this, you'll need to bring photographic proof of age ID (driving licence, passport, PASS card).

I have a disability and I’m worried about access, will I be able to take part?

We're keen to promote equality of opportunity for people with disabilities and to take the necessary steps to meet their requirements - that's why we've ensured that everything we do is accessible to as many of you as possible at our events. Please get in touch with events@icmp.ac.uk to discuss your requirements or if you have any questions.
