Event Details
Hannah Montrose is an ICMP Drum alumna and more recently drummer for Lizzo (she performed at the Brit Awards 2020).
This event is part of our EQ series (started earlier this year), where we have been discussing equality and diversity within the music industry. Hannah will be talking about being an LGBTQIA+ artist from an underrepresented background.
Known for her tight pocket grooves, Hannah Montrose is no stranger to the music community in the UK.
Growing up, she was exposed to playing different genres. Using these skills, in 2010 Hannah won a full scholarship to study drums at ICMP.
Throughout her career, Hannah has been on some of the UK’s biggest platforms. Such events include; the Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the 2012 London Olympics, The National Television Awards. Most recently she was seen on BBC Live Lounge and The Brit Awards on stage with US superstar Lizzo.
Hannah’s passion for helping and guiding younger musicians is shown through her work at Herts Music Centre, where her dedication to building a solid foundation for the next generation of musicians is evident. Her aim is to push boundaries for female musicians in the UK.
