Assuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, visitors and the wider community is our top priority. After an extensive risk assessment process, we’re proud to say that our Kilburn campus is 100% ‘COVID-secure’, following advice provided by the UK Government.

We’ve put a series of measures in place, including social distancing, enhanced cleaning, improved sanitation facilities, special protocols for dealing with on-site sickness and more, and we’re determined to respond to any new government measures, guidance or advice quickly and effectively.

Our four-stage system

Our four-stage system (similar to the UK Government’s alert system) will define what studying at ICMP will be like. The stage we’re at will dictate the availability of facilities and services and outline how you can expect your programme to be delivered.

OUR CURRENT LEVEL OF OPERATION IS STAGE 3

Safety Precautions

Stage 1

Lockdown

Closed to all If UK government guidelines dictate full lockdown. All teaching, learning and assessment is delivered online. All student support services available remotely. Building is closed to all students.

Stage 2

Partial Lockdown

Closed to all but those with special requirements If UK government guidelines dictate partial lockdown. Most teaching and most assessment is delivered online. Specialist facilities, such as studios, are available to students who urgently require them. All student support services available remotely. Enhanced cleaning /Adjustments to buildings (e.g. Perspex screens)/Strict social distancing. No social spaces/Face coverings where social distancing cannot take place.

Stage 3

Controlled Opening

Open but on a managed basis. If UK government guidance requires restrictions, but more flexibly than stage 2. Blended delivery, mix of face-to-face and online. Most students are asked to attend only one day per week in person, to minimise travel. Available on site, but we’ll proritise the use of online services and remote meetings where possible. Enhanced cleaning/Adjustments to buildings (e.g. Perspex screens)/Strict social distancing/Normal shared spaces unavailable, but classrooms allocated for downtime between sessions.

Stage 4

Full Opening

Open to all students, but sensible precautions in place. If the majority of restrictions are lifted.

Delivered face to face for most students, but the online resources are still available. Full range of services available. We still prioritise the use of online services where possible. Enhanced cleaning/Adjustments to buildings (e.g. Perspex screens)/Social spaces open.

Current level of operation - Stage 3

Although we continue to deliver most teaching online, students now have access to facilities for rehearsal, recording and study. Some teaching is taking place onsite, and students on most undergraduate programmes now have access to additional face-to-face workshops, designed to complement their online learning.

The recent movement in stage (from 1 to 3) has been made in light of revised government guidance and in consultation with students.

Accommodating individual circumstances

Some students may have individual circumstances that mean they can’t return to on-campus attendance at the same time as others.

This may be due to a long-term health condition that makes you more vulnerable than others, because you live with a vulnerable relative, or you may be unable to immediately travel or relocate to the UK due to local lockdown or restrictive measures.

If you are considering delaying your physical start or return to ICMP due to the Coronavirus emergency, please complete this form

Once we have collated your information, we'll be in contact with each student individually to outline how we'll support you to continue your studies offsite for an agreed period of time.
