Jo is an experienced senior leader and company director. A digital marketing and technology expert with over 15 years’ experience in e-commerce and Higher Education settings, Jo also has extensive knowledge of recruitment and agent management within international markets including China, Korea, India and across Europe. As a business mentor for the last seven years she’s been supporting individuals, startups and entrepreneurs to implement fast-growth strategies across a variety of industries.
Prior to this leadership and management role, Jo was instrumental in the significant growth of the UK’s largest music education provider, BIMM (the British and Irish Modern Music Institute). During her time with the organisation student numbers increased from 2,000 to 5,000 over three years, enabling the launch of additional education centres, both in the UK and Europe.
Before this, Jo held senior marketing positions within digital and technology businesses, including leading online travel brand Lastminute.com and recruitment company Monster.com. During the 2009 recession, Jo was responsible for Monster’s national campaign ‘Keep the UK Working’ – an initiative to help people back into work, in partnership with Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. In 2010, Jo was part of the technology innovation team that delivered the UK’s first-ever online virtual job fair, attracting over 100,000 unique users across three days. On the back of this success in the UK, Monster rolled the virtual event out across France, Ireland, Spain, Brazil, Croatia and the US.
Jo and her husband Ruhan, a business analyst and professional photographer, live in Brighton, East Sussex, and enjoy travel adventures and developing artistic projects within their local community.
