Awards FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a deadline to book my ticket?
Yes, students are required to have booked their ticket by midnight on Sunday the 3rd of November 2024.
When is my graduation taking place?
We are excited to announce that this year's ICMP Graduation Ceremony will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on Saturday, the 11th of January 2025.
Why isn’t my graduation taking place in the summer of 2024?
Exam boards take place throughout 2024, and ICMP is required to wait until all results are received and confirmed before delivering the graduation ceremonies.
How to get there?
The Queen Elizabeth Hall is situated in the Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX. The closest stations are Waterloo (Northern, Bakerloo, Jubilee, and Waterloo & City lines) and Embankment (District and Circle lines). For full travel information, including congestion charges and parking, visit: Southbank Centre - Getting Here.
What will happen on the day?
Further details of the day's schedule will be confirmed closer to the date (keep an eye on your inbox). However, please note that there will be two ceremonies – one at 10:30 am and one at 2:30 pm. Guests will need to arrive early to collect gowns and have any photos taken.
Upon arrival, your tickets will be checked. If you have hired a gown, you will be robed up (help will be available to ensure your cap is on correctly). If you have purchased a photography package, you will have your photo taken with your loved ones once you are dressed in your graduation attire. You will need to take your seats 30 minutes before the ceremony, which will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. After the ceremony, there will be a 45-minute drinks reception to celebrate your achievements with friends, family, and peers. You are then encouraged to enjoy the beautiful location of South Bank - or further afield - for the remainder of the day to continue your celebrations!

Do I have to wear a gown?
If you are going on stage to graduate, there is an expectation that you wear a gown, along with your fellow graduates.
What should I wear?
As graduation is a formal occasion, an appropriate standard of dress is expected. National dress of your home country is also acceptable. Please note that casual clothes such as jeans, shorts, or t-shirts are not suitable and should be avoided. At the end of the day, this is a celebration, so wear clothes that make you feel good!

If I haven’t booked photography in advance, can I still have my photo taken on the day?

Will I receive my certificate on the day?
No, your official degree certificates will be distributed towards the end of August 2024. When you go to collect your award on stage, you'll have a picture taken with your Programme Leader and a prop certificate.
