Neil is a composer, recording artist, academic, live music entrepreneur, broadcaster and author. He is a tutor and module leader on the MA Music Business, BA Live Events Management and BA Music Marketing courses at ICMP. Neil also teaches and mentors students on other courses from time to time.
Neil runs Trust The Doc Media with ICMP alumnus Sherry Sahayaraj, combining live events (gigs and small festivals), a radio show, monthly blog, online TV show, educational courses, book publishing and a merchandise store. They are both members of the band The Music Of Sound, signed to Monochrome Motif Records. Their projects regularly receive funding from the Arts Council of England and The National Lottery UK. They are also both moderators and reviews writers for Fresh on the Net, the digital platform for new music set up by legendary musician and broadcaster Tom Robinson.
Neil has worked with a variety of artists, labels, publishers and agencies over many years as a songwriter, performer and entrepreneur. He was a club promoter in the late nineties and has run two small independent record labels.
Neil began lecturing on a freelance basis for ICMP in September 2021 and was honoured to join the staff in September 2022.
