ICMP’s cohort of MA Music Business students visited the Bureau in Greenwich’s Design District for a day of workshops and talks on mastering effective product design.
The external workshop saw students discussing their ideas, networking and listening to business experts, founders and thought leaders in product development.
Speakers included Dimitrios-Leonidas Papadopoulos, CEO of Viable Growth Factory & Head of Strategy, Max Busin, CEO of Gotobeat and Tyler Bloor, Head of Live at Gotobeat.
Pranav Mahajan, MA in Music Business student, said: “It was an amazing experience. The seminar on product design and amplifying successful product growth was super helpful. I learned so much, covering multiple areas that I’d not thought about before.”
Yannis Iliopoulos, ICMP’s Senior Programmes Manager and the Programme Leader of the MA Music Business, explained the thinking behind the trip: “We’re spending a lot of time on this programme talking about ideation, business modelling and business planning and we wanted to get closer to product design and product development. We invited some experienced experts and start-up founders to explore how to develop 'stickiness' in product design.”
“The message to students is that there are many steps between ideation and product launch and there are many skills they need to develop too.”
We’re very grateful to all the speakers as well as the Bureau for welcoming us to their space for the day. Our team at ICMP are always looking to make the most of our connections within the creative industries and start-up community to equip students with the latest knowledge to enhance their learning and careers.”
ICMP enjoys an ongoing partnership with the Bureau with students having the opportunity to apply to the Ace Accelerator @Bureau initiative.
The latest winner - alumna Luana Pires - is currently working out of the Bureau and drawing on the expertise and networks the opportunity provides to grow her artist management business.
If you’re interested in joining ICMP’s Music Business School, then there is still time to apply to join this September.
