Nick Mander, a distinguished figure in the music industry, boasts a career marked by dedication, innovation, and an unparalleled ability to foster and guide talent. Holding pivotal roles in leading music institutions such as EMI Records and Epic Records, Nick has truly cemented his place amongst industry elites.
From 2018 to the present, Nick's expertise found a perfect fit at EMI Records as a Senior A&R Consultant. Reporting directly to the President of EMI UK, he proficiently managed the thriving careers of artists including Isaac Gracie and Barnes Courtney, eclipsing 1 billion streams and generating over £1 million in sync income. His creative expertise was further solidified with his appointment as the A&R Executive for the Grammy and Academy Award-winning film ‘Rocketman’. Collaborating closely with musical director Giles Martin and interfacing with Paramount Pictures, Nick played a crucial role in curating the film's iconic soundtrack and guiding Taron Egerton’s recording sessions.
Since 2007, Nick has been steering OM Masters, delivering over 200 master syncs, working across all stages of delivery from initial pitch, through deal negotiation and then into licensing agreements and invoicing. Highlights with OM have include placing songs in a multitude of high profile films and tv series, including Hoodwinked, the Barbie movie, Women’s Murder Club, America’s Got Talent, Coyote Ugly and Modern Love (Netflix).
Previously, Nick's expertise was sought after by Epic Records (Sony Music UK), where he was headhunted by Rob Stringer to head an A&R department. Here he oversaw the recording career of a roster that included a host of icons, as well as developing artists, and was instrumental in signing breakthrough artists such as Finley Quaye, who subsequently bagged the ‘Best UK Artist’ Brit Award.
Earlier in his career, Nick held the title of Director of A&R at EMI Records, overseeing a vast team and artist roster, driving the creative direction based on industry trends, and expanding his professional network.
