COURSE OVERVIEW
In just five days, you’ll learn how to create your own music using either Ableton Live or Logic Pro at our Music Production Summer School. Get hands-on in the studio as you experiment with techniques including sampling, drum programming and mastering, and collaborate creatively with your fellow students.
Choose from the following software:
- Logic Pro X
- Ableton Live
While Ableton Live is designed especially for electronic music producers and Logic Pro X is more suited to traditional musicians, you don’t need any prior experience on either software programme to dive in. Both platforms are highly adaptable and allow you to produce music in any style or genre of your choosing. As a bonus, you’ll also develop a good working knowledge of the innovative Ableton Push instrument.
Working with Ableton Push is just the coolest thing.”
At every stage, you’ll be supported by our specialist tutors who are all active professional musicians and producers in their own right. You’ll be taken through the basics of your chosen software program and introduced to the techniques and processes involved in music production – from understanding the interface and beat making, to using samples and creating chord sequences and melodies.
I enjoyed learning mixing and mastering, and some of the pro tips helped me a lot!”
Your five days of Summer School will set you on a music production journey that begins with recording and arranging, and ends with the finer points of post-production. At the end of the week, you’ll have developed the skills you need to create and produce finished compositions that stand out from the pack.
Talking to the music producer in the final workshop was so inspiring and he had lots of great tips. It was exciting to hear his stories about who he’d worked with and produced music for.”
You’ll also learn from guest speaker sessions, with some of the industry’s best helping you explore music production in all its glory, from deconstructing drum beats to mixing and mastering.
