ICMP Festival Shows 2024
We discover which stages ICMP's artists and bands have lit up during the summer of 2024.
The summer months are some of the most hectic for the music industry and ICMP's music community with the festival season taking centre stage.
From Glastonbury to British Summer Time in London's Hyde Park, our students and alumni have been very busy playing live across the UK and beyond.
Here are some of the key performances from ICMP's community...
Essence Martins | Kew The Music as Mika's special guest
ICMP BA Songwriting alumna Essence Martins performed a support slot with Mika at the Kew The Music event.
Taking place on 9th July, the gig was part of a week-long event series featuring many top artists including Ronan Keating, JLS and Richard Ashcroft.
Essence has also previously joined Birdy on her US tour and has now announced the release of new single, 'Quiet and Perfect'.
Matt Maltese | Bonnaroo
Bonnaroo is a festival held in Manchester, Tennesse in the US and this year welcomed our alumnus Matt Maltese among a huge line up of talent including Post Malone and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Matt is a brilliant singer songwriter with a number of albums to his name, including his latest release 'Songs That Aren't Mine'.

Ego Ella May | Montreal Jazz Festival
ICMP Vocals alumna Ego Ella May has enjoyed some great success since completing her studies as one of the new wave of UK artists. Alongside the likes of Ezra Collective (who are behind ICMP's Ezra Collective Scholarship) and Nubya Garcia, her EPs and albums have raised the bar for contemporary jazz and neo-soul.
Ego performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival this summer and will be also at the UK's We Out Here Festival too.

Moncrieff | OpenAir St.Gallen
From millions of streams to plaudits from Elton John and Adele, ICMP Songwriting alumnus Moncrieff is a burgeoning talent who recently played at OpenAir St.Gallen in Switzerland.
The artist released his 'Self Care' EP earlier in the year, exploring the subject of male mental health. Watch him perform his song 'Love Somebody' from his gig at King John's Castle in Ireland from May.
Louise Bartle | Glastonbury with Bloc Party
Louise Bartle is a drummer who graduated from our BMus Popular Music Performance degree course in 2014 and joined indie legends Bloc Party the following year.
Ten years later and Louise performed the Other Stage at Glastonbury as part of the band's recent live tour.
Georgia Winter and Conor Houston | British Summer Time with Hannah Grae
Our alumni Georgia Winter and Conor Houston both joined rising star Hannah Grae as part of her show at British Summer Time.
The indie rock artist was supporting Shania Twain fresh from the icon's performance in the 'Legends' slot at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Hannah Montrose | BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend with Cat Burns
In 2010 Hannah won a full scholarship to study ICMP's HNC Drums course, then went on to a BA before launching her music industry career. Her work has seen her play with Lizzo and Emeli Sande before taking to the drums for acclaimed online sensation, singer songwriter Cat Burns at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Luton.
Jay Lewis | British Summer Time with the Daydreamers
Our alumnus Jay Lewis is drummer with the Daydreamers, a rapidly-emerging indie band who signed a record deal earlier this year.
The group have been growing their fan base, thanks in part to the success of their hit, 'Call Me Up'. Daydreamers performed at British Summer Time in Hyde Park on the same bill as the Kings of Leon.
The band are looking to continue the momentum with the release of their new track, 'All I Ever Dream About', on 19th July.
Tyra Ornberg | Glastonbury with Mount Kimbie
Our Bass Higher Diploma alumna Tyra Ornberg has been playing as part of Mount Kimbie's live band to promote the release of their latest record, 'The Sunset Violent'.
The group, led by Dominic Maker and Kai Campos, played the Park Stage at Glastonbury and have been on tour in the US too. Watch Tyra and the band perform with King Krule at the festival.
Sacha Savory | Capital Summertime Ball with Becky Hill
When outside of our classrooms, ICMP Vocals Tutor Sacha Savory regularly performs on some of the UK's biggest stages, including recent gigs with Becky Hill.
The Capital Summertime Ball took place at London's Wembley Arena with Sacha singing in front of 80,000 people.
Begut | VESU Festival with Carlos Sares
ICMP Songwriting alumna Begut (Beatriz Gutiérrez) has been a brilliant musical talent to watch, with her music resonating with an increasingly large audience. Her highlights at ICMP included being named winner of Tileyard's Vinyl Scratch competition after competing in a live final.
She recently took to the stage at the VESU Festival to perform with Carlos Sares.
Jenn Hills | Download and 2000trees
Jenn Hills, an MMus in Popular Music Performance student at ICMP, is drummer with one of rock music's most exciting new bands, IDestroy.
The three-piece have appeared at numerous festivals over the summer as they gear up to release a self-titled debut album on 30th August.
Festival appearances have include Download, 2000trees, dot to dot and Ilosaarirock Festival in Finland among others.
Nectar Woode | Glastonbury and La Défense Jazz Festival
Nectar Woode graduated from ICMP's BA in Creative Musicianship in 2021 and has been growing her fan base ever since, performing headline shows and support slots with the likes of Isaac Gracie.
Nectar's debut EP 'Nothing to Lose' was released earlier this year and she performed at both Glastonbury and La Défense Jazz Festival this summer.
Vixen | Coachella with Hatsune Miku
Vixen is a UK-born, LA-based performer, songwriter and content creator. Since graduating from our BMUs in Popular Music Performance, Vixen's impressive skills as a guitarist have seen her play with Halsey and Hatsune Miku at this year's Coachella.
Simon Howard | LOOPFEST
Our Masters in Songwriting student Simon Howard has had a busy year so far, playing numerous gigs and releasing new music.
Alongside his studies, he's also played at this year's LOOPFEST.
