Ryan is one of ICMP's multi-disciplinary lecturers, working across BA Music Production for Film TV and Games, BA Creative Music ProductionBMus in Popular Music Performance, BA Creative Musicianship and MMus in Popular Music Performance, where he utilises his passion for these different disciplines to inform his music practice and teaching.

Ryan Poulter has over a decade of experience as a professional freelance session bassist, recording engineer and music educator. He has performed at notable venues and festival stages - including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, O2 Academy, Beautiful Days and Boardmasters festival.

As a recording engineer and producer, Ryan has worked out of many studios, including J&J Studios, Salvation Studios, Air Studios and Abbey Road Studios.

Ryan started his career as an educator with the Devon youth service, where he was a Music Senior Leader. Ryan worked with many youth services in and around Devon, running their recording studio in The Hive, in addition to running lessons and events with many SEN institutes within the area. Having studied both a Bachelors and Master's Degree, Ryan embraced his teaching journey at higher education institutes such as ICMP.

Ryan continues to work in the industry and is skilled in live performance, arranging and composing, songwriting and studio environments as a recording engineer and producer.
