ICMP’s Ace tours South Korean partner schools

Ace, ICMP's Head of Industry Partnerships and Business Development, has undertaken a two week tour of ICMP's network of partner schools in South Korea, engaging with staff, students and providing a mixture of performance and business masterclasses. 

As part of the trip, Ace met hundreds of students, visiting Dong Seoul University, the Modern K Academy, YIT University, School Music, Powerhouse Academy, Howon University, the New Music Academy, the Seoul Institute of the Arts, Dankook University and Seoul Music High School. 

Many of the visits saw Ace host performance and music business masterclasses alongside meeting faculty members and music tutors. 

As part of the tour, Ace shared insights from his experiences in the music industry and discussing navigating the music business as an artist. Topics included management, live agents/touring, publishing and independent and major label record deals.

He also performed Skunk Anansie songs live to illustrate many of the band's hits and how they were written, managed and released.

IK Multimedia sponsored the trip with a Total Studio Elements software package for all students and staff attending the classes.

Ace was escorted by our outreach ICMP guitar alumnus Min Woo Han who translated the classes. Thanks to all those who made the trip happen and to all the students who came along to the sessions.
