Luke Patterson, Drum student 2010 - 2011, has reached immense chart success with his band Clean Bandit. The band maintained Number One status for three weeks with their hit 'Rather Be' beating competition from Beyonce and Will.I.Am to the top spot. The song has also broken Spotify records by being the most streamed song in the UK in a week (1.09m streams), surpassing Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky'. In February 2015, the song won the group a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording.
Luke plays alongside his brother Jack Patterson (bass, sax, decks), Grace Chatto (strings) and Milan Neil Amin-Smith (strings).
Clean Bandit's Rockabye, featuring Sean Paul & Anne-Marie, has been No 1 in the Official UK Singles Chart for several weeks; the track was the UK’s Christmas number one in 2016 and only the eighteenth song in chart history to spend nine or more weeks at number one on the official UK singles chart. Its accompanying video was self-directed, and the band have been nominated for Best British Artist Video and Best British Single in 2016's BRIT Awards.
In early 2021, Clean Bandit announced the release of their new single 'Higher', a collaboration with Iann Dior, available on all streaming platforms from Friday 29th January 2021. The track was produced by former ICMP masterclass guest Mark Ralph.
