Catherine Anne Davies (aka The Anchoress) is the latest artist, ICMP tutor and music industry success story to feature as part of The Interview Series.
Hosted by Lara Magnelli from ICMP’s Marketing Team, the podcast series explores the careers and insights of many ICMP tutors and creatives who have all enjoyed huge achievements in their careers alongside their teaching and academic accolades.
Previous guests have included the likes of Xan Blacq, Charlie Thomas and Lia Mice.
Catherine teaches on ICMP’s BA in Songwriting, MA in Songwriting and MA Creative Music Production courses and has enjoyed a major 18 months with the release of her critically acclaimed and Top 40 denting second album, ‘The Art of Losing’ and her collaborative record with Bernard Butler, ‘In Memory of My Feelings’.
Alongside her solo releases, Catherine has worked with a number of bands including the Manic Street Preachers and toured the world with Simple Minds.

The interview explores many aspects of Catherine’s career including her inspirations as a music producer and her favourite records including releases by Alanis Morissette, No Doubt and the Manic Street Preachers.
She said: "Everybody knows this story about me ... I don't drive because my parents said to me they couldn't afford to get me driving lessons and a multi-track recorder...!"
Some of the questions explored in the interview include Catherine’s commitment to pushing gender equality in the music industry, her experiences as a teacher and her favourite new artists.
