With so many amazing successes, it’s hard to keep track of what ICMP students and graduates are achieving.
So to help, we're now highlighting a track each week from a selected ICMP artist or band already attracting industry attention and starting to make some serious waves with music lovers and critics alike.
ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 5TH september
'Don't Care Enough' - HAUS
Why has the track been selected?
Ellis Mortimer (Bass/Synth/BVs), Sam Kelly (Guitar/BVs), Daniel Hylton (Guitar) and Lyle Simpson (Drums) are HAUS, a North London five piece smudging the lines between EDM, R&B and indie.
Signed last year to Atlas Artists Records, the band delighted crowds at Y Not, Grape and Lowlands Festivals this summer and recently played a storming set on BBC Radio 1’s Dance Stage at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival.
This track is taken from their recent ‘Say What You Say’ EP, which was produced by Everything Everything’s Alex Robertshaw. Clash Magazine loved the record, describing it as “matching their live energy with lyrics that speak about the doubts and frustrations of 2k17 life”.
The video for the single was directed by Matt Halsall and shot in South Korea, with a timely focus on the global aftershocks of Trump’s presidency.
The band recently announced a UK tour this November. Catch them at the following dates later this month…
23rd September – Underground Festival, Gloucester
24th September – Guildhall, Gloucester
21st November - Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff
22nd November – Community Room, Leeds
24th November – Think Tank, Newcastle
25th November – The Cookie, Leicester
26th November – The Joiners, Southampton
28th November – Omeara, London
