Our Music Careers and Industry Hub actively support and nurture all the musical talent to pass through ICMP and are responsible for selecting our weekly #ICMPSpotlight artist.
This week they've chosen to shine it on forward-facing jazz outfit Vertaal (who feature our BMus student Ajit Gill) and their track 'Empty Quarter'.
ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 9TH OCTOBER
‘EMPTY QUARTER' - VERTAAL
Progressive jazz-funk duo Vertaal released their ‘Spheric’ EP in 2017 and have been regulars on London's live scene ever since, wowing audiences at a whole heap of venues including Spiritual Bar, Mau Mau, Jazz Re:freshed and making regular appearances for Sofar Sounds.
Prepping for the release of their forthcoming EP ‘Alcazar’, the duo (who feature our BMus student Ajit Gill) will soon be opening for Mark Guiliana’s headline show at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s on 11th and 12th October.
Mark was a brilliant masterclass guest at ICMP last year so these events promise to be full of ace live music.
Vertaal's 'Empty Quarter' was released last year and you can learn more about the band in our previous interview here.
Listen above and visit Vertaal's Facebook page for more info.
