Congratulations to ICMP's Hannah Ongers on rejoining live agency CAA for the summer.

ICMP's BA Live Event and Festival Management student Hannah worked with the company in 2023, helping issue artist contracts, reviewing touring routes and logistics, and liaising with promoters from across the globe about headliners and support acts.

This year she is working as a General Assistant with CAA's Touring team, supporting on tours for All Shall Perish, Deaf Havana, Warren Zeiders and many more.

Commenting, Hannah said: "My responsibility as a General Assistant is working alongside other assistants on a number of tasks such as tour on sales, tour ticket sales, contracting shows, arranging tour schedules and more."

"My job involves a lot of emailing and spreadsheets. However, I am constantly at shows at least once a week which is great fun. I've just got back from Download Festival and over the summer I have been lucky enough to get to go to plenty of festivals including 2000 Trees, British Summer Time, All Points East and Reading and Leeds."

Hannah continued: "Every time I work with CAA I gain a lot of knowledge. Each Agent works differently so being a General Assistant you are able to work with a lot of different people and they all have lots of knowledge which you end up picking up."

ICMP has helped me become more confident in myself within the industry. For example, last semester for one of my modules I had to put on a live show. This gave me a huge insight of what it's like to be a promoter so now when I’ve gone back to CAA and I am constantly emailing back and forth with promoters, I have a deeper understanding of what things are like on their end."

"ICMP has taught me that to be successful in this industry, no matter what your role is, you essentially have to know the basics of all live roles and how the live music eco system works."
