Congratulations to ICMP Tutor Paul Stanborough and ICMP alumna Jane Barkley Young on winning two categories at the Production Music Awards.
The pair had two tracks nominated via Score & Songs with another also featured through KPM.
'Sooner Or Later' was winner of Best Acoustic Pop Production Music Track while '100 Thousand More' was named winner of Best Chart Pop Production Music track.
Commenting, Paul said: "I've been nominated a few times in the past, which is always a lovely acknowledgment - a reminder that people hear the work that goes into the tracks beyond the studio, so it's lovely to be recognised among so much great music."
The collaboration with Jane came through her studying a Vocal degree at ICMP. The pair have since maintained a creative partnership that has thrived over a number of years.
Having produced a song for her own project, I asked if Jane would like to collaborate for a brief and we've written together ever since. She's a phenomenal vocalist and brilliant lyricist- she's so easy and quick to work with, which I value so much."
Paul's sync-work is artist driven, meaning his creative approach is the same as it would be for artist projects.
Commenting, he said: "I might amplify certain elements - whether it's enhancing dynamics, adding more dramatic changes of scenery, or pushing the production into a more stylised direction. Production values need to be so high, so it pushes me to make great sounding records every time. Crafting quality in terms of writing, production, and mixing becomes even more crucial to stand out whether it's for an artist release or sync."
Currently, Paul's time is split between producing and mixing artist records, working on sync projects, and lecturing on the MA Songwriting degree.
He said: "I love the variety of genres I get to work in, and I'm truly passionate about helping artists discover their unique voice and sound."
"Each aspect of my work informs and influences the others, so I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to create music every day in my studio at home, surrounded by nature. On top of this my partner and I just had a baby girl, so that's also keeping us pretty busy!”
