Congratulations to our drums degree graduate Luke Patterson who has been nominated for two BRIT Awards with his chart topping band Clean Bandit.
The group, who blend classical and electronic music, have been named in the categories for best British video and best British single for their track 'Symphony'. The single features the vocals of Zara Larsson and was produced by our recent masterclass guest Mark Ralph.
Clean Bandit have enjoyed some huge success over the last few years, in 2015, ‘Rather Be’ won the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording and also bagged the group two Ivor Novello awards. Their 2016 single ‘Rockabye’, which features rapper Sean Paul and singer Anne-Marie, became the band’s second number-one hit in the UK, becoming the Christmas number one single for 2016 in its seventh consecutive week at number one. The song also saw huge international success, charting at number nine in the US.
‘Symphony’ is Clean Bandit's third UK number-one, leading the band to selling over 13 million singles and 1.6 million albums worldwide.
We wish Luke, Jack and Grace all the luck at the BRITS on the 23rd February.
