Multi-platinum songwriter and artist Fiona Bevan visited ICMP to meet our songwriting students to discuss her music industry career.

Fiona is a brilliant songwriter who rose to fame after co-writing the massive One Direction hit single, ‘Little Things’ with Ed Sheeran.

Since then, she has continued her career as a solo artist and writer, working on songs for the likes of Aurora, Lewis Capaldi and Tom Walker.

Her visit included talking to our students about her experiences and their music. We also interviewed her on her afternoon with ICMP and her music industry experiences.

She said:

When starting out, if there’s anyone who loves what you’re doing as a new artist and wants to support you and give you advice, then that’s great. Remember that your own peer group is extremely important when it comes to getting feedback, love and support."

She added:

You also need to make and maintain relationships. You are the centre of your career and you’re the one who can make everything happen. It’s all on you even if you have a team around you, you need to be in charge."

Fiona recently released her new EP 'Wild Angels, Sweet Demons' and is currently on tour with The Wandering Hearts.
