We’re thrilled to announce the next phase of development on our Queen’s Park Campus, including the unveiling of a brand new live music venue ready for the start of the 2022 academic year.
The second stage of the work will begin in March 2022 and see a significant proportion of the building opened-up for use in time for September. Situated on Salusbury Road, ICMP’s Queen’s Park Campus is housed within an impressive three story building which will eventually add a further 14,000 square ft of facilities to our existing footprint.
Students have already been impressed by the first phase of development which saw three brand-new state-of-the art music production studios introduced.
Student social spaces, a canteen and a venue!
This next phase will include the completion of the ground floor area and feature a brand new 100+ capacity live performance venue, alongside a sizable social area for students including a canteen.

With Independent Venue Week 2022 taking place from 31st January, our new venue will be committed to championing live music and giving emerging talent a brilliant platform to perfect their live skills.
The first floor of the building will be opened and include additional teaching and meeting spaces alongside two new tech labs and three new practice rooms. A new lift will be installed to ensure the building remains accessible to all.

Accessible seven days a week
As with our existing facilities, all ICMP students will be able to access these new spaces for booking outside of timetabled hours, seven days a week.
Paul Kirkham, ICMP’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to begin work on the next phase of development at our fantastic Queen’s Park Campus.”
"Since we opened at the start of this academic year, the additional space and facilities have proved to be a real hit with the ICMP community.
The unveiling of our new live music venue alongside the tech labs and practice rooms in 2022 is a significant development and will provide our students with more fantastic opportunities to hone their skills. There’s never been a more exciting time to launch your music industry career with us."

Chris Catchpole, ICMP’s Head of Facilities, said: "Alongside the additional learning and teaching spaces, establishing a venue on-site will give students a brilliant opportunity to work on their craft and develop the vital abilities they need to succeed in the wider industry."
The addition of this extra space and equipment, including the installation of Dolby Surround speaker systems, will ensure students can enhance their skills on the very best tech resources the industry has to offer."
We have been very pleased to work with the award winning Veale Associates on the sound design of the new space. Director Eddie Veale is a pioneer of the home studio, having been named as recipient of the prestigious sound fellowship from the Association of Professional Recording Services back in 2012. Eddie has worked with some of the music industry's biggest artists, designing recording facilities for Channel 4, The Who, Pink Floyd and The Beatles.
Increasing accessibility to our estate
The development work is also part of our ongoing commitment to make our campus accessible to our surrounding community. We are working closely with the Queen's Park Residents Association to ensure local residents can positively benefit from the space alongside our students and faculty members.
At ICMP, our teams are constantly working on enhancing the learning experience for our students. The development of our Queen’s Park Campus is an exciting step forward for our entire community and we can’t wait to welcome students to this brand new space in September 2022.
