This week they've chosen to shine the spotlight on Cornelia, one of ICMP's Cert HE Songwriting alumni.
ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 13TH AUGUST
'SIARGAO' BY CORNELIA
Cornelia Forslund aka Cornelia is a 20 year old singer songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden. After spending a year in London to obtain her Cert HE Songwriting at ICMP, she went back to her hometown and released 'Siargao'.
Her debut single, produced by Jay Hooks, a fellow ICMP student, talks about a paradisiac island in the Philippines. Siargao is a place you can't help but yearning to go back to.
The word Siargao probably doesn’t make sense to a lot of you. It’s the name of a remote island. I went there, I fell in love and left, pretty much."
Cornelia found herself thinking and writing about it on - guess what? - a rainy day in London in late 2018. The song's gentle harmonies, together with Cornelia's celestial voice, tell the perfect tale of love and nostalgia.
