Congratulations to ICMP BA Creative Music Production (BACMP) tutor Polly Mackey who has announced details of her new album as Art School Girlfriend.

Polly, who teaches and leads a module on our BACMP as well as on some of ICMP's evening industry courses, will release her second album, 'Soft Landing', via Fiction Records on 4th August.

The album is self-described as a series of “small euphorias” and sees Polly embracing more "tactile electronics" on the album.

The first song revealed from the record is 'Close to the Clouds' which was debuted by Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music.

Commenting, Polly said: "'Close To The Clouds' is about looking back on my twenties with some kind of wistful hindsight."

I wanted it to embody the energy of the music I spent a lot of my teenage years and early twenties listening to. It’s about reflecting on the winding path to contentment, having finally figured out how to find it."

"The album title 'Soft Landing' is taken from these lyrics, and this track represents a lot of the record’s themes: reflection, joy, coming of age."
