We were delighted to welcome UK beatboxer Kimmy BEATBOX for an exclusive interactive masterclass with ICMP students.
Originally from Manchester, Kimmy is now a London-based beatboxer and artist who performs regularly all over the country.
She’s appeared at Glastonbury as well as alongside the likes of Lady Leshurr and Nadia Rose and treated our students to a brilliant interactive class, showing off her audacious skills as well as giving our students plenty of opportunity to participate.
Commenting on beatboxing, Kimmy said:
Doing beatboxing with people who haven’t done it before and to see their reactions is surprising. Once you explain how a sound is done, people think it is a lot harder than it is, but once they see how easy it can be, it’s really cool to see them be inspired by that and hopefully continue to do more at home!"
Watch our video interview with Kimmy on how to manipulate your voice and follow ICMP Events for more on our series of masterclasses.
We've hosted a number of expert sessions during the 2017/18 academic year - watch video interviews with some of the best in the business including Stevie Wonder drummer Gerry Brown, Iggy Pop bassist Ben Ellis, guitar genius Guthrie Govan and acclaimed backing vocalists LaSharVu.
