We were delighted to welcome music industry legend 'Whispering Bob' Harris to ICMP for an evening of live music and discussion.
Taking place as part of our Freshers Fortnight, the masterclass saw Bob in conversation with our Head of Songwriting Sophie Daniels.
As part of the event, our students performed many of the British broadcasting legend’s favourite songs in front of a packed room of current students and alumni.
Bob tweeted after the event:
Thank you to all the students at @ICMPLondon for such a warm welcome at my talk yesterday evening. It was a joy to meet you and hear very special performances of six of my all-time favourite songs."
Bob Harris is one of music broadcasting most famous and iconic presenters.
He presented the seminal live music show, ‘The Old Whistle Grey Test’ which first graced our screens in 1971. The series became a byword for musical excellence, showing performances by some of the most legendary acts of the time including The Who, Captain Beefheart, David Bowie and The New York Dolls.
Student performers at the event included the ICMP Choir, Richard Fairlie, Leire, Vermilion Day and Natalie Lindi.
