ICMP students Maiya Smith and Marland Barsby have come together to launch new promotion company Elevate Entertainment.
Their new venture will be unveiled with a live gig at a top London venue showcasing some of the capital’s best new talent.
Taking place at the Water Rats in London’s King’s Cross on 3rd May, the gig is expected to be the first of a series promoted in collaboration between our Music Business and Songwriting students.
The first event will be headlined by alt-pop quintet Artfair with support from Kansas City Theatre alongside developing ICMP acts FLOW and Lizzie Heads.
Commenting on the new venture, the pair said:
“We set up the business as we loved the idea of employing our own creative ideas and methods in a way authentic to ourselves and artists. Not only does setting up our own promotions company enable us to work independently and implement our own ideas but work with as many London acts that we love as possible.”
The ICMP community inspired us to set up the company. Having the opportunity to see our friend's bands performing has fueled us to use our knowledge of the industry to help developing artists have a platform they trust.
"Hopefully this will lead to many artists from the ICMP community and beyond to play well organised, rewarding gigs at brilliant London venues."
