We’re delighted to announce ICMP’s legendary Songwriters’ Circle live events will be returning this September with the iconic Frank Turner and a Nashville songwriters special in collaboration with Belmont University.
As part of our response to the challenges provided by Covid-19, we’ll be hosting the events online with performances accessible via our Facebook and YouTube profiles.
Taking the events online not only gives us an exciting opportunity to profile international songwriting talent such as performers from the Belmont University in Nashville, a music school ICMP has forged a strong bond with over recent years, but make performances available to a much wider audience.
Frank Turner is a renowned singer songwriter and long-term friend of ICMP who has performed at numerous previous Songwriters’ Circles. Frank has been very active on social media with live streams since the onset of the pandemic and we’re delighted he’ll be joining us again in September for the start of Freshers 2020.
Sophie Daniels, ICMP’s Head of Songwriting, said: “We’re very much looking forward to welcoming in the new academic year with two brilliant Songwriters’ Circle events.
Both events will be presented in an online format with two longstanding friends of ICMP in the form of Frank Turner and students and tutors from Nashville’s Belmont University, including Grammy Award winner Drew Ramsey."

We organise songwriting collaborations between students and alumnus Jordan Shaw has previously received a cut on a track he co-wrote with one of their students."

Led by ICMP’s experienced songwriting tutors, the night offers students across all courses exclusive performance opportunities to play alongside some of popular music’s most respected and celebrated songwriters and learn the stories behind the music.
