ICMP's Sam Jones is the latest guest to appear on ICMP's podcast, Sounds Like These.
Hosted by ICMP’s Lara Magnelli, the series features a a variety of leading music industry professionals discussing their careers and more. Each episode sees them talking about their experiences, adventures in the wider industry alongside advice and insight.
Sam, ICMP's Music Business Teaching Fellow, follows in the footsteps of Audrey Riley, Catherine Anne Davies (The Anchoress), Lia Mice, and many more to be featured.
In the interview, Sam discusses his way into the music industry via studying music technology as well as the roles he has taken on. Much of his career focus has been overseeing music business projects from funding applications to delivery in the form of events or launching music venues.
He also talks about his involvement with Damon Albarn's Africa Express music project.
Commenting, Lara said:
Sam is the man behind many events, festivals, and venues we - as Londoners - often come across. The range of jobs and experiences he's collected during his career is simply astonishing, so it was a real pleasure to talk to him and most of all to know our students get to learn from this guy!"
Elsewhere, Sam discusses ICMP's BA Live Event Management and how this will help students adapt to an exciting new era for the live music industry.
