Ace, ICMP Professor and Head of Industry Partnerships and Business Development, has kicked off the summer festival season with a pair of live shows in Italy with Skunk Anansie.
Ace is a founding member and has been balancing his educational work at ICMP with touring and writing commitments as part of the legendary rock band.
Skunk Anansie also features session vocalist and ICMP tutor Erika Footman.
The rockers started their run of summer appearances with two Italian gigs in Caligari and Rimini.
Tutors and students from Italian schools Grooveland and Take 5 attended the gigs as guests of the band and even came backstage to meet them and hang out for a few drinks.
Staff of ICMP industry partners IK Multimedia and Reference Cables were also invited and came along to join in the musical fun.
Commenting, Ace said:
It's always amazing to get out there in the summer to play some fantastic gigs, but it's a real bonus to be able to meet our associated schools and students as well as our European partners on the flip side of my profession."
"It seems to all make sense of what I do and how we all collaborate to make music work for all of us and feed our passion at the same time!"
The Italian dates started off a run of Skunk Anansie headline festivals that will take place during July and August 2023, including a main support slot with The Red Hot Chili Peppers show in front of 60,000 people at the Milan Ippodromo.
Ace will be travelling around Europe with the band for shows in Italy, Norway and Belgium before returning to ICMP for the Summer Schools for a series of workshops and masterclasses.
