ICMP BA Creative Music Production (BACMP) tutor Polly Mackey has released her new album 'Soft Landing' as Art School Girlfriend (ASG).

Polly teaches and leads a module on our BACMP as well as on some of ICMP's evening industry courses and this latest album is the follow up to her 2021 debut album, 'Is It Light Where You Are?'

The majority of the album was recorded at home with the rest of the music created at Crouch End’s Church Studio alongside friend and co-producer Riley MacIntyre.

The record explores a series of small euphorias - celebrating the joy in the everyday - across a number of tracks exploring a variety of styles from indie shoegaze and house to techno and krautrock rhythms.

Commenting on the album, Polly said: "I had such a nice time making the record."

I’m at the age now that I know it doesn’t have to be loved or heard by everyone. I just want someone out there to find their personal euphorias with it."

According to the Guardian’s review: "The winning tracks here are those angled towards the dancefloor, where all Art School Girlfriend’s hazy, filtered sounds come nailed to well-defined beats."

Alongside her own artist material, recent projects have seen Polly scoring for friend and visual collaborator Tom Dream’s film 'Shy Radicals'.
