ICMP is pleased to announce that it will be the world’s first customer of Audient’s new flagship large formatting audio mixing console, the ASP8024 Heritage Edition. The British audio company recently announced the launch of their new mixing console at the high profile audio trade show, Musikmesse and we are excited that students on our inaugural BA (Hons) Creative Music Production and Professional Diploma in Music Production will be among the first to use the console. With the console being the focal point of our new teaching control room, students will learn how to produce a commercial record within a professional studio environment.
ICMP students will be able to immerse themselves in the world of analogue recording and mixing thanks to the Audient class-A mic pres, 4-band split-able EQ and in-line architecture. The design of the console was based on two custom large-format consoles from the legendary Advision Studios in London. The ASP8024-HE is Audient’s homage to some of the best American & British mixing console technology of the 1960’s and 1970’s, but yet maintains a relevance to the modern style of recording and mixing music. Technical Director at Audient, Tom Waterman states “Much more than just a facelift, the re-imaging of the ASP8024-HE ensures that this console, which has been first choice for studios and education facilities for the 18 years maintains its status as a ‘modern classic’ and cements David Dearden’s heritage alongside his timeless design.” For an in-depth walk through of the console from Musikmesse 2016, click here.
