Dave Holden studied at the ICMP (BMus, Bass) between 2010-13. During his 3rd year he was a session bass player for the X Factor live shows and following that, performed on the debut albums from the winners of The Voice UK season 1 and 2. Since 2013 he has continued to make a living as a musician performing with various bands and artists including: Nadim Naaman (Phantom of the Opera), Josh Flowers & The Wild (touring band) and DJ Antics, performing regularly at KOKO Camden as part of a live Hip Hop/RnB night. This also features ICMP alumna Izzy Chase-Philmore (vocals) Ben Trickey (guitar) and Bubba McCarthy (drums).
Whilst gigging regularly, Dave pursued another passion of his - composing music for film. Having studied this previously, it was at ICMP that he was inspired to pick it up again and so in 2015 he formed FLAT 6 MUSIC. FLAT 6 is a team of composers, songwriters and musicians who write for film, TV and theatre. To date, Dave and the team have composed music and songs for various short films, plays and TV adverts including: Boots, Huawei, National Trust, House of Fraser Christmas 2016 and Mazda which featured ‘Take Me Away’, a song written and produced with ICMP Tutor Nadine Furer.
