BA Creative Musicianship graduate Matt Maltese will be supporting The Maccabees on their farewell tour later this year at three major concerts in Birmingham, Glasgow and Newcastle.
Matt has been growing from strength to strength since leaving the ICMP, having been supported by our careers service, The Hub. Matt met Pete Simmons from Universal Publishing at one of the career days during an A&R one-to-one session organised by The Hub.
The Hub continued to help and advise Matt through a variety of early career choices, and remained engaged in providing a sounding board for his music. He played one of our Songwriters Circles along with Natasha North and as a result was asked to support her on the London dates for her tour.
His song ‘Even If It’s A Lie’ received support from Burberry, Radio X and Apple Music and is now performing all over the UK in support of his debut EP, 'In a New Bed', including tracks produced by Hugo White (The Maccabees). He recently performed at Green Man Festival and will be playing alongside acts including Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Wild Beasts at this year’s Live At Leeds .
