Dr John McGrath, a lecturer at ICMP, will be celebrating the launch of his new book as part of a Research and Development (R&D) Seminar Series.
Taking place on 6th March, the event will be one of six hosted by ICMP with additional sessions led by other members of the education team including Audrey Riley, Daniel Green, Sophie Daniels, Jonathan Whiskerd and ICMP Dean of Academic Studies, Dr Tony Harris.
Commenting, Dr Tony Harris said:
The purpose of the R&D Seminars Series is to establish a forum that showcases the widest range of R&D activity from across our faculty. The plan is for R&D seminars to become a regular feature of life at ICMP and will give as many colleagues as possible a platform to share their thoughts, ideas and innovative practice."
Dr John McGrath’s new book - ‘Samuel Beckett, Repetition and Modern Music’ - explores the acclaimed playwright’s experiments with music and literature.
Commenting on his upcoming session on 6th March, he said:
'I'll be giving a brief overview of my book with a particular focus on how this research has informed my practice as a musician, improviser and educator. It will be great to celebrate the occasion with ICMP colleagues and students and I welcome all to attend."
The format of the seminar sessions will be a 20-30 minute presentation followed by an opportunity for Q&A and discussion. The events are open to all staff and students.
