Congratulations to ICMP’s Head of Songwriting Professor Sophie Daniels for receiving multiple nominations at this year’s Music Week Women In Music Awards.

Taking place in November in London, the event aims to celebrate the careers of unsung women and female-identifying people in the music business.

Sophie has been nominated for the Roll Of Honour and the Special Recognition awards.

Sophie said: "I am delighted to be nominated for a Music Week Women In Music award this year. In particular, it was wonderful to be nominated for this by an ICMP songwriting student - my work for all creative students means everything to me."

Fighting to progress equality of opportunity for women in music education, and now in songwriting across all areas of industry, is a mission that I’ve been proud to contribute to and that I mean to continue for many years to come."

"Being recognised for this is very pleasing, and more importantly, I hope will help build my platform to continue this work."

The Music Week Women In Music Awards, staged in association with The Association of Independent Music and UK Music, returns on Friday 10th November at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.

Music Week aims to showcase the full range of roles that women and female-identifying people are tackling within the business: highlighting how vital they are to the industry overall.

Previous winners of awards include Charisse Beaumont, Black Lives in Music Chief Executive, and Deborah Annetts, ISM Chief Executive, among others.
