ICMP Vocal alumna Salena Mastroianni performed with UK grime sensation Stormzy as part of his historic headline set at the Glastonbury Music Festival.
Salena sang with the choir during the rendition of his song, 'Blinded By Your Grace, Pt 2', as part of Stormzy's performance at the Pyramid Stage on the Friday night of the event.
The choir was put together by The Music Confectionary, a company run by Olivia Williams.
Commenting on how she landed the high profile job, Salena said:
"I worked with Olivia before for a James Bay gig. She runs her own company and organised the whole choir. Luckily she chose me to sing for Stormzy."
The performance featured Stormzy playing his biggest hits and sharing the stage with UK rapper Dave and Coldplay's Chris Martin.
Salena said:
It was an incredible experience. To watch an artist like Stormzy in production was inspiring and to see such talent while perfecting his set to every last detail showed true mastery. I won’t ever forget the views on the Glasto stage either! Sometimes I’m in disbelief I got to witness that."
Previously, Salena has written and released music as a solo artist and performed with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Craig David and many more as a backing vocalist. Her recent releases include 'Volcano' by Anthony Harm and 'Detonate' by Lucca Perra.
"Songwriting is one of the things that keep me busy but also I’m touring with Ministry of Sound's 'The Annual Classical' tour up and down the country. It’s been absolutely amazing! Singing with an orchestra is definitely a huge box ticked off!"
