ICMP is delighted to announce its new industry partnership with leading manufacturer PRS Guitars.
The relationship sees PRS Guitars branding a room at ICMP alongside providing more than 15 guitars from across their range for our Facilities.
Students can these instruments for lessons, songwriting sessions and performances.
Ace, ICMP’s Head of Industry Partnerships and Business Developments, has used PRS Guitars for more than 20 years in his professional and touring settings with rock band Skunk Anansie.
Ace said: "PRS Guitars are an enormous asset to our students here at ICMP."
Not only do students have access to incredible quality instruments for all their educational needs and personal projects, but they also get to try the range of guitars to see which model personally suits them in a future professional setting."
Gavin Mortimer, PRS Guitars CEO, said: "At PRS guitars, we always strive to be the best we can be; we see exactly the same ethos at ICMP. We are therefore delighted to be working with ICMP to provide a great selection of PRS guitars on campus for the students to enjoy."
"As part of this relationship, PRS artists will drop in and provide masterclasses from time to time such as Ace."
It is our hope that the PRS Guitars/ICMP collaboration will help inspire and educate ICMP students to also be the best they can be and we are excited to see what how the future unfolds. Who knows, we may be celebrating another internationally famous PRS artist’s anniversary in 20 years time from ICMP's class of 2022."
PRS Guitars currently sponsors two ICMP Outstanding Student awards with now alumni Joe Gutteridge and Matthew Aston winning prizes for the BMus Popular Music Performance and MMus Popular Music Performance programmes.
The PRS Guitars room was officially opened at an event acting as a joint celebration of the introduction of PRS guitars to both Kilburn and Queens Park ICMP campuses and the 20 year anniversary of Ace as an PRS Guitars endorsee.
Ace provided a fun guitar masterclass in which he played Skunk Anansie songs to the original backing tracks as well as involving students in playing along, pop up guitar solos and Q&A quizzes.
All students left with great prizes provided by PRS, including guitar tuners, key rings, lanyards, hats, mugs and t-shirts.
