ICMP’s Truetones group has performed a new cover version of Stevie Wonder’s 1970 classic, 'Heaven Help Us All'.
Truetones is an auditioned group of students, representing multiple courses at ICMP, who are all passionate about vocals, harmonies and a cappella.
The group rehearses weekly to prepare for concerts and studio recordings, capturing the inspiring arrangements of ICMP tutor and Truetones group leader James Rose.
The choir features Natalja Zaugarova, James Tatman, Kateryna Swirid, Shayla Motley,Vânia Lima, Janetta Ivanova, Saishri Cappel and Manav Sharma.
Lucinda Allen, Teaching Fellow in Vocal Studies at ICMP, said:
I am incredibly proud of this group. They encompass everything ICMP offers in vocals; community, expertise and joy for singing."
James Rose, said: "I’m beyond excited for everyone to hear what Truetones have been up to this year, pushing boundaries and modelling authenticity together in their music. It's been a pleasure to be their musical director."
Alongside the video performance and regular rehearsals, this year the group has performed at graduation ceremonies, recorded performances in the studio and reached the semi-finals for the Varsity Vocal Competition London.
Previously, Truetones performed at the Music Declares Emergency event at the London Tate Modern ahead of the COP 26 Climate Conference in Glasgow.

The video was directed by Will Preston with Manav Sharma mixing. James Rose was responsible for directing the group and arranging the song.
