ICMP’s key COVID-secure initiatives include:
Social distancing – using signage and separators to create a physical barrier between people, limiting numbers in work spaces, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout campus, channeling movement in high-traffic areas through a one-way system, improving ventilation and more.
Hygiene – we’ve installed additional facilities so staff, students and visitors can wash and sanitise their hands when they enter and leave the college, as well as at key points around campus.
Face coverings – We continue to recommend that face coverings are worn in communal spaces and whilst moving around the building. Staff and students will need to make their own judgements as to whether they feel comfortable in the classroom, but this will now be a matter for personal choice. We fully support any staff and student that continues to feel safer wearing a face covering throughout the building and expect all students to do the same.
Enhanced cleaning – we’ve increased the frequency and intensity of our cleaning, with staff carrying out deep anti-viral cleans and regularly disinfecting objects, surfaces and touch points across the ICMP campus. Cleaning now takes place during opening hours and musical equipment is thoroughly cleaned after every booking.
Testing – students and staff are no longer required to produce a negative Lateral Flow result on entry to our buildings. However, we continue to encourage everyone to act responsibly and seek a test if they experience symptoms, or come into contact with others who test positive.
Check-in – students and staff must tap in and tap out of ICMP buildings each time they enter or leave, so we know who is on campus at all times and can monitor building capacity.
Reporting – all students and staff are required to report positive test results to spoc@icmp.ac.uk, this allows us to ensure appropriate measures are in place to contain any potential outbreaks.
How we've made ICMP COVID-secure
In order to be certified as COVID-secure, facilities like ours must meet a list of rigorous requirements. To ensure ICMP’s COVID-secure plan meets best practice requirements, we’ve undertaken widespread research, engaged a specialist third-party contractor, and carried out an extensive risk assessment.
Wherever we find ourselves, we’re well-prepared for whatever the future may hold and ready to adapt to any necessary changes.
Creating worry-free, safer places for all to enjoy.
We've also been working in partnership with Shield Safety Group to ensure our premises are Safe to Trade. In conjunction with Shield, we've conducted a rigorous risk assessment, self-assessment and have completed eLearning courses to ensure ICMP students remain safe on site.
We hope our commitment to remaining COVID-secure will help put your mind at ease. As an organisation we have complete confidence in the measures in place and we want you to as well. We’ll regularly review our hygiene and cleaning protocols in all spaces, and will adapt them in response to changing public health advice and risk levels to ensure everyone in our ICMP community knows they’re in safe hands.
